About Us

Our mission at Bella Coola Elementary is to enable each learner to fully develop his or her potential in an atmosphere of caring, courtesy, and cooperation

Originally, a kindergarten to grade 7 school, in 1986, Bella Coola Elementary (or BCE for short) became a kindergarten to grade 3 school.

In 2007-2008, Bella Coola Elementary added a Strong Start Center and in 2008-2009, after a district restructuring, BCE became a Strong Start to grade 5 school.

In addition to the Strong Start program, BCE elementary offers full-day pre-k, full-day kindergarten, Nuxalk Language & Culture from pre-school to grade 5, and French in grade 4. 

In 2018-2019 Bella Coola Elementary became a Strong Start Center to Grade 4 school with the Grade 5s moving to the re-opened Nusatsum Elementary.
